2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Power and Performance
The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes with three different gas-powered engine options. The first is the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine that combines raw strength with an impressive performance. It utilizes Electronic Stop/Start (ESS) technology to help improve fuel efficiency, by having the engine come to stop when not in motion, being stuck in traffic or stopped at a light, then switching back on when it's time to roll.
The second engine option is a larger 5.7V V8 engine, which offers a quick yet steady sense of acceleration, that offers a generous amount of torque, clocking in at 390 lb-ft. When properly equipped with this engine, the Grand Cherokee has the maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds. Which is great for drivers who need to haul or tow material around for work or recreation.
The third available engine is the 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo PHEV Engine, which is found on 4xe trims. This hybrid powertrain can provide up to 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque for a maximum towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds. This engine is designed to combine the best of both previous engines, getting a lot out of a little.
